Antenatal Exercise Classes

Exercising during pregnancy makes sense, and is great for both mum and baby. Whilst your body shape is taking on a life of its own, exercise will increase your sense of control. The endorphins it releases boost energy levels and make you feel better about yourself. Exercising whilst pregnant can help prevent excess weight gain and so mum will regain her pre-pregnancy weight more quickly. Exercise helps prepare you for the trials of labour and the demands of ensuing motherhood, as well as helping you feel better about yourself throughout this physically and emotionally demanding time. Remember, the better shape your in whilst pregnant, the stronger you'll be able to cope with labour, birth and looking after a new baby!

Our antenatal exercise classes will increase your overall fitness levels and leave you feeling energized, a big plus for the mum-to-be!

The program is tailored to meet the specific demands of pregnant women. The exercises promote muscle tone, strength and endurance, helping the body cope with the demands of pregnancy and labour, and speeding up mum's subsequent recovery.

When can I start antenatal exercise classes?

As with all Expecting Results classes, you will be asked to complete a full health-screening questionnaire to assess your suitability for the class. Assuming you have had no complications, you may attend as soon as you feel up to it. However, if you have suffered spotting, bleeding or had a previous miscarriage, we advise you to start from the second trimester (15 weeks).
